One year.

Labor Day weekend marked the one year anniversary of our move to NYC. They say the first year is the hardest, and I can verify that this is definitely true. Like many things worth doing, there were highs and lows, ups and downs. We made it through though, and I am proud of and happy for it.

It was also a year of so many firsts…
first time living in a different state
first yankee’s game, (in the new stadium no less)
first Christmas Day in NYC
first time freelancing as an interior designer
first time our car was stolen…(true story)

First time having my very own business.

This past winter I began a journey, and I have had the honor of being a part of so many beautiful weddings (16 so far to be exact, with 8 more in the coming months!!) and working with some amazing and loving families. Before moving to NYC, I never would have dreamed this, and I feel immensely thankful to have found this unexpected path and this extraordinary passion. I have found an incredible community of colleagues and friends along the way, who have kept me smiling on this journey. And I have found myself laughing, giggling, and being so inspired I get the chills, all while ‘working’.  It really is true that life can lead you places you never would have expected…if you’re open to it. I can’t wait to share images from the beautiful weddings I have had the privilege of photographing this season, but for now, I will share some pictures from this city that I currently call home. New York City, there really is no place like it. It has opened my eyes and my mind, and I can’t wait for the journey, excitement, and experiences that this next year has in store!
