Getting to be a part of Leigh and Nate’s intimate wedding in NYC was incredibly special. From the moment I talked with Leigh, who is so warm and friendly, I was beyond exited to capture their day. They are from Richmond, VA (my hometown) and were planning a really special weekend in NYC to become husband and wife. They hosted an intimate group of family members, and planned the most fabulous celebration. From a rehearsal dinner Friday night at Momofuku Ssäm Bar, to their beautiful ceremony at Crosby Street Hotel followed by a luncheon reception at Balthazar, its was a celebration of their love for each other and their shared love of NYC. Having attended Columbia for his B.A., Dr. Nate Sewell is no stranger to how fantastic the city is. He and Leigh enjoy spending time there as often as they can. To be able to bring Leigh’s two beautiful twin daughters and their immediate families to one of their favorite places for their wedding was, I am sure, very special to them.

I really enjoy when I have the opportunity to capture both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day, because it gives me a chance to get to know the couple and their families even better. I knew a bit about Leigh’s inspirational story and how she is championing many issues in the healthcare industry in Richmond, but getting to meet her sweet twin daughters, Taylor and Sydney, was such a highlight. They both had these beaming, beautiful smiles all weekend and were such love bugs. Seeing them share in the joy of their mom getting married was really special! And Nate is one of the kindest, coolest groom’s I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. So naturally their entire family was just as lovely. With so many of them traveling from Tennessee and Virginia, I must admit it made my southern heart feel a little more at home in NYC. 🙂 The icing on the cake is the style that these two have! From Leigh’s gorgeous Kenneth Poole gown, to Nate’s super stylish Phineas Cole by Paul Stuart suit and Ledbury shirt and tie, they looked so chic on their wedding day!

Leigh and Nate, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these special memories for you. Getting to know both of your families and witnessing the celebration of your wedding weekend was such an honor. Seeing you two giggle and dance in the streets of Soho was so touching, only to be topped by getting the overall sense of just how much you love one another. From the snuggles and loving glances, to the kindness you show, it was so obvious how deep your love is! Thank you for giving me the pleasure of capturing it for you!
