  • Hi there and welcome!

I am a photographer based in Northern VA, specializing in Interiors, Brands, and capturing the love of a family on medium format film. Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and being a photographer for 8 years, I’ve been able to blend my love for capturing a feeling through an image with my love for spaces, people, and stories. Whether it’s the feeling of being inside a beautifully designed place, the feeling of a brand’s story and how it draws people in, or the feeling of a 3 year old’s tiny arms wrapped around their mother and the impossible joy felt at hearing their sweet giggle, my heart connects with each one of these and translates it into imagery that has soul and evokes emotion. I believe in telling a story, beautiful light, gratitude, and always seeing the beauty in life and in others.

This engagement session brings to mind all things warm and sunny and beautiful in NYC! One of my favorites from last season, Jenny and Josh were so much fun to spend a summer afternoon with in the city! Truth be told, I kind of developed a girl crush on Jenny from her Instagram feed before we even met. We are basically the same person – with our shared love of Soul Cycle, Shake Shack, NYC, Jay-Z, seafood, cupcakes, using bad words (sorry mom), Kate Spade, wine, Juice Generation…and she has multiple pictures of Chick-fil-a fries posted. Not just one, but several images of this yummy goodness perfection. Come on…who wouldn’t want to be her BFF?? (Now, if I could just adopt her love for running, we’d be in great shape 🙂 ).  Spending time with them at the Central Park Conservatory Gardens felt so natural and fun. We laughed and chatted about the amazing wedding they are planning in Atlanta (I would so be there if it weren’t for maternity leave!) and I got to know them both a little better. I love when this happens, and it’s what I actually strive for at each engagement session. To get to know each couple, create a rapport, and just make them feel comfortable. Because it’s when couples are comfortable, the natural beauty of their love just shines through. In every snuggle, embrace, and touch, you see who they really are as a couple, and I am able to capture this for them. I loved seeing this happen for Jenny and Josh, because they are such a wonderful, sweet, fun couple!

I had such a great time with you two and wish we could go back and do it all over again! I can’t wait to see how beautiful you are on your wedding day Jenny! You guys are so great!

The past few weeks have been pretty exciting around here. Not only will wedding season start in two short weeks with a fabulous wedding at the Crosby Street Hotel in Manhattan, but I had the incredible honor of being invited to become a member of Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book! I feel so completely honored, humbled, and grateful to be welcomed into such a wonderful community of wedding professionals. Style Me Pretty is the ultimate resource for brides and wedding professionals for all things pretty and wedding related. They pride themselves on curating a community of top-notch wedding professionals for brides and grooms, and so to become a part of a group of vendors that includes such photographer talents as Jose Villa, Erich McVey, Susan Stripling (among many others)…well I am elated! A huge thank you to Style Me Pretty for the invitation and warm welcome!! It means so much to me!
