  • Hi there and welcome!

I am a photographer based in Northern VA, specializing in Interiors, Brands, and capturing the love of a family on medium format film. Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and being a photographer for 8 years, I’ve been able to blend my love for capturing a feeling through an image with my love for spaces, people, and stories. Whether it’s the feeling of being inside a beautifully designed place, the feeling of a brand’s story and how it draws people in, or the feeling of a 3 year old’s tiny arms wrapped around their mother and the impossible joy felt at hearing their sweet giggle, my heart connects with each one of these and translates it into imagery that has soul and evokes emotion. I believe in telling a story, beautiful light, gratitude, and always seeing the beauty in life and in others.

or nothing.” –  Helen Keller

Everyday I am reminded of this, as a picture with this quote sits resting close by while I work. It’s one of my favorite quotes, reminding me to

be brave
be bold
be a rebel
be a dream chaser
be daring

go against the grain

and I love it! Here’s to a top-notch week for all! I head to Virginia to kick off my wedding season with a gorgeous wedding this weekend – what could be better, yay!

(and a birthday shout out to my sweet mama, the ranunculus’ are in your honor!)

There are couples who immediately put you at ease. Weddings where the bride and groom are so hospitable, that you instantly feel like you are a part of the celebration. THIS is Nicole and John, and their wedding was as perfect as, well, a day at the beach. From the beginning, their love just invited you in and made you feel at home. They were so relaxed and comfortable on their wedding day. And while the beach locale didn’t hurt, their easy dispositions were totally a result of their joy and happiness to be marrying each other. You could see it in their eyes. In every hug. In every kiss. There was genuine contentment there – like a cozy sweater you slip into, while sitting on the beach soaking up the last few rays of the late September sun. Their love made you feel this way. Warm. Happy. Appreciative.

Last September, I had the privilege of being a part of their wedding at The Ocean Club on Atlantic Beach in New York. Their details were adorable, yes – brightly colored glass bottles cut by the groom for centerpieces, handmade Indian wedding sandals for the bride, beautiful flowers in hues of orange, purple and ivory, and a special performance by the Swords of Light Bagpipe Band. But, it was the love of this couple that honestly struck me, and stuck with me the most. Leaving that night, I knew I was a part of a wedding where the bride and groom were so at home with one another and in love, and to me, nothing could be more beautiful.

A huge thank you to Betsi Ewing Studio for allowing me the honor of photographing this wedding for your amazing studio (your work rocks!), and thank you to Michelle Capor for accompanying me!
