  • Hi there and welcome!

I am a photographer based in Northern VA, specializing in Interiors, Brands, and capturing the love of a family on medium format film. Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and being a photographer for 8 years, I’ve been able to blend my love for capturing a feeling through an image with my love for spaces, people, and stories. Whether it’s the feeling of being inside a beautifully designed place, the feeling of a brand’s story and how it draws people in, or the feeling of a 3 year old’s tiny arms wrapped around their mother and the impossible joy felt at hearing their sweet giggle, my heart connects with each one of these and translates it into imagery that has soul and evokes emotion. I believe in telling a story, beautiful light, gratitude, and always seeing the beauty in life and in others.

This winter, a sweet family came together in New York City to celebrate the impending arrival of a little one! It’s very clear that he will be loved, and that he is coming into one caring (and stylish!) family! The event took place at Vermilion Restaurant in NYC and was swanky, chic, and so customized! With adorable details and tasty confections by Silk Cakes (check out that adorable cake!), guests who traveled from all across the country celebrated Baby Chary in style. Raashi is one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have ever seen – she was just glowing and was as cute as she could be! Thank you to these two lovely families and their friends, for letting me be a part of the celebration!

I just can’t seem to shake this warm weather longing I have. After being in Las Vegas (and 80 degree weather) last week for WPPI, I had to share these last few images from my Santa Barbara trip, as if this mere posting is my attempt to will spring here a little faster. (Mother Nature, what’s up with the snow on Saturday, huh? This southern girl is a bit confused by snow in March). A post on all of the knowledge that was dropped at both UNITED and WPPI is forthcoming, but for now, let’s just look at pretty pictures with warm golden sunlight, shall we?

A HUGE thank you to Chad Diblasio  for organizing the Bohemian beach shoot and to the amazing Stacy Childers and Josh Newton for organizing the Yacht shoot. You all put so much work, time and talent into these shoots – they aren’t easy! And some of my most thankful, reflective, tranquil moments of the trip were spent on that boat, and so I thank you for the experience!

My new WPPI buddy, John DeFiora, said on our plane ride home that this image below would look good as a black a white. I agree John, I agree. 🙂

  • Amanda S - These are breathtaking. I want to go out there!ReplyCancel
