I am a photographer based in Northern VA, specializing in Interiors, Brands, and capturing the love of a family on medium format film. Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and being a photographer for 8 years, I’ve been able to blend my love for capturing a feeling through an image with my love for spaces, people, and stories. Whether it’s the feeling of being inside a beautifully designed place, the feeling of a brand’s story and how it draws people in, or the feeling of a 3 year old’s tiny arms wrapped around their mother and the impossible joy felt at hearing their sweet giggle, my heart connects with each one of these and translates it into imagery that has soul and evokes emotion. I believe in telling a story, beautiful light, gratitude, and always seeing the beauty in life and in others.
Mikkel, thank you capturing these lovely pictures of the handsome groom, his dad and his guys! Love their details – the monogrammed cufflinks and Lily of the Valley boutonnière are perfect!
An elegant reception at the Yale Club of New York in Manhattan.
A stroll down Fifth Avenue as husband and wife to Washington Square Park.
A bouquet of Lily of the Valley.
A stunning Reem Acra gown.
All of these things and more coalesced into one grand affair for Robyn and Tripp’s wedding this past August. With New York City as the backdrop, they hosted all of their friends and family for a day full of celebration. Following a ceremony at the Church of the Ascension on Fifth Avenue, the stunning ballroom at the Yale Club was the perfect setting for the evening. With 15’+ ceilings and ornate architectural details, it was the perfect canvas for an aesthetic of classic elements, including white tapered candles, centerpieces of pink hydrangea, and navy and gold menu cards. The affair had a sophistication to it, but this didn’t keep the guests from kicking up their heels (in the bride’s case, strappy silver Ferragoamo’s) and dancing along with the band into the wee hours of the morning. I had the honor of photographing Robyn and Tripp’s wedding for Sasha Felix Photography with the lovely Mikkel Paige accompanying me, and it could not have been more perfect! Cheers to the happy couple!

I LOVE love. Like in a ridiculous, my-heart-wants-to-explode, it’s-the-best-thing-on-earth kind of way. Seeing people with love in their hearts makes me giddy. It makes me well up inside (and it usually spills out through my eyes). So it’s a wonderful thing that my “job” (I always put it in quotations because, really, it’s too amazing to call it that!) is telling love stories and spending the day with people who are madly in love!
Because it’s Valentines Day, I thought I would share some of my favorite feel good, full-of-love videos that will make you smile, and maybe even make you happy-cry! LOVE – of the people, animal, or any other type of variety – is an amazing thing, and I am so thankful to experience it in my life each and every day! Enjoy the selection below and Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Hope it’s filled with happiness, goodness, and a big ‘ol heart full of love!
My favs:
Hands-down one of the best proposals ever! This lip-dub that leads to Brad asking Emily for her hand in marriage always leaves me misty-eyed. Heck, I don’t know Emily, but after seeing this video, I kind of want to be her friend. She seems pretty amazing!
I love this video that reminds us there is so much love in this world. You may have seen the Coca-Cola commercial using this clip. Brilliant!
What is more heartwarming than a dog and a dolphin that are friends. Seriously. (Did I mention how much I love animals??) You can also see an elephant and dog who are friends here (warning, this one is immensely touching, but has a sad ending. It is, however, an incredible testament to the bond animals share. You WILL need a box of tissues). Or you can view images of the man who loves his dog so much, he soothes his arthritis in the lake here. My video library of ‘animals who are friends’ is vast.
One of my all-time favorite videos. When I watch this, it’s like a giant hug has reached out from the computer and grabbed me. It feels that good. You gotta watch it.
The amazing hearts behind Artifact Uprising (some of my favorite people ever), shared this video this morning, with a challenge to be generous today. And to share this generosity on Instagram. You can find out more information here.
Because I have an obsession with the Today Show, here is a clip of the gang doing the Harlem Shake, Valentine’s Day style. If you know what the Harlem Shake is, you are one step ahead of me. **Side note – man, that Al Roker…he is my fav. Some people might want to meet Tom Cruise or Britney Spears, I just want to meet good ‘ol Al. (And Hoda Kotb).
How cute are these guys and gals lip-dubbing to Bruno Mars? Proof that love makes you shine at any age! Just like kittens and puppies, I have a really soft spot in my heart for grandmas and grandpas. (As seen on the Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda).
And one last heartwarming animal clip – ‘surprised kitty’. It’s pretty impossible not to smile while watching this clip!
