  • Hi there and welcome!

I am a photographer based in Northern VA, specializing in Interiors, Brands, and capturing the love of a family on medium format film. Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and being a photographer for 8 years, I’ve been able to blend my love for capturing a feeling through an image with my love for spaces, people, and stories. Whether it’s the feeling of being inside a beautifully designed place, the feeling of a brand’s story and how it draws people in, or the feeling of a 3 year old’s tiny arms wrapped around their mother and the impossible joy felt at hearing their sweet giggle, my heart connects with each one of these and translates it into imagery that has soul and evokes emotion. I believe in telling a story, beautiful light, gratitude, and always seeing the beauty in life and in others.

Today my husband Rob and I leave for a week vacation with my mom and extended family. We are pretty excited. Not only am I looking forward to getting back to a place full of so much natural beauty and to spend time with my family, but I am excited to connect, unplug, and explore. I feel so much gratitude that I am able to spend time with my family, especially in light of the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the community I live in. My gratitude is overwhelming.

It is in this spirit that I leave you with a beautiful video on gratitude by Louie Schwartzberg via TED, brought to my attention by some of my favorite people – Jenna Walker Photographers in Denver. They are our very own wedding photographers (full blog post coming on that later) and they’re also one of the main sources of inspiration and reasons that I am so blessed to be in this profession. My gratitude to them is immeasurable.

So if you have a minute, or ten, I would check out the video. It gets good at 1 minute, and get’s really good at 3:33.

Here’s to a wonderful week for all, full of gratitude. And because I am traveling, I will have a post on St. John and all of its gorgeousness next week while I am gone, so stayed tuned for that!

If you know me, you know I am a Nordstrom junkie. Maybe it’s the AMAZING customer service they offer, maybe it’s their Zella live-in leggings and workout pants (the number of pairs I own I wont admit to – if you love leggings, you have to try these!), but these beautiful bridesmaid dresses are just another reason to love this store!

So often brides try to find bridesmaid dresses their gal pals REALLY will wear again. Really! And these totally pass that test. I think my bridesmaid days are over, but these dresses make me want to find an event to attend and order one!

How cute are these Donna Morgan Strapless Silk Chiffon dresses? And with so many colors and a price point of $158, they are fabulous contenders in my book!

And with other Donna Morgan options from Nordstrom in colors that cross over to different styles, you could have your favorite ladies in the same color in different versions. Here is another adorable option, Donna Morgan Belted Chiffon Dress:

Yay for Nordstrom offering cute dresses that aren’t too ‘bridesmaid-ish’ and offer versatility! If you are searching for other wedding dress options, bridesmaid dress options, or just some inspiration while in the midst of the wedding planning process, check out their other bridal options at their Wedding Suite!
