  • Hi there and welcome!

I am a photographer based in Northern VA, specializing in Interiors, Brands, and capturing the love of a family on medium format film. Having earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and being a photographer for 8 years, I’ve been able to blend my love for capturing a feeling through an image with my love for spaces, people, and stories. Whether it’s the feeling of being inside a beautifully designed place, the feeling of a brand’s story and how it draws people in, or the feeling of a 3 year old’s tiny arms wrapped around their mother and the impossible joy felt at hearing their sweet giggle, my heart connects with each one of these and translates it into imagery that has soul and evokes emotion. I believe in telling a story, beautiful light, gratitude, and always seeing the beauty in life and in others.

The other title to this blog post could be My Peeps. Because that’s who these girls are. They are my friends. My colleagues…but more importantly my friends. And I adore them. They are good people, with good hearts. And they really know me. The good, the bad, the ‘not so fun, but oh so necessary for the soul’ things to talk about. And I swear, as I was sorting through these perfect scans from Richard Photo Lab to share with them, “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel came on. You can’t make this perfectness up. The perfectness of this one night in NYC together. The perfectness of letting go and shooting your friend’s head-shots from a place of such authenticity. The perfectness of being soul sisters.

I had so much fun playing on a NYC street corner with you. Until our next adventure together…

From the moment I met Jody and Benji, I knew their wedding was going to be a ton of fun and full of style! The two of them definitely know how to have a good time, and they have the best sense of humor together (the video they recorded for their wedding website is out of this world amazing. I literally laughed out loud too many times to count). They story of how they met, shared here in their wedding feature on Washingtonian Bride & Groom, shows they also have such a sweet connection. It’s so clear that Benji really adores Jody, and that Jody is completely smitten with her man. One of my favorite moments on the wedding day was when Jody opened a card from Benji that had a pop-up ferris wheel. She had joked about having a giant one at their reception. And while that didn’t work out in the end, Benji found the perfect card and gift to show that for the rest of his life, he would work hard to make his wife’s dreams come true (annnnd to tease her a little about her one ‘Bridezilla moment’ as they called it. This playfulness between them is one of the things that makes their love so great!).

Jody has amazing taste. I knew after her engagement session (featured here on Style Me Pretty), that her gown and bridal look would not disappoint. She was so stunning in her Enzoani wedding gown with such a unique neckline and her Jimmy Choo blue suede heels. She truly was flawless. And of course Benji made sure his style game was on point to match his beautiful bride. They both love the water, and the Woodlawn Manor Farm was the perfect mix of stately beauty and laid back elegance for their big day. They choose to exchange vows underneath a giant oak tree right by the water’s edge, which Jody had adorned with tiny bud vases with an assortment of roses and other flowers. It was so pretty! They danced the night away in the newly constructed barn on the property, but not before Jody’s dad, Benji’s mom, Jody’s sisters, and the Best Man gave some really touching toasts. All of them had everyone in tears, both from laughing and from the sweet words they shared. Guests were treated to lots of fun lawn games by the water, in an evening that was both elegant and laid back. It was truly perfect! Jody and Benji, thank you for having me capture your love story! It was such a honor! You two are so much fun and have such a special love!
