Katie and Steve’s wedding day was such a joy to photograph. It’s no secret that I love photographing couples who are sweet, so in-love, and down-to-earth. That is the epitome of these two! Katie is one of the kindest brides I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. She literally didn’t stop beaming the entire day. She was giddy over the fact she was becoming Steve’s wife, and just being around her made us all happy. Some of my favorite moments were of Katie getting ready. The tears shared between her and her mother were so touching. There’s so much to be felt in those moments, that can’t be articulated with words, which is why I love preserving it in images. And just seeing her surrounded by her friends, her mom and them sitting in the hotel bed just laughing and sharing stories. It’s moments like that which make a wedding day so special. It was sprinkling off and on that day, which gave a very English garden feel to our portrait time at Greenwood Gardens. Palette Films and I were running around like crazy people because we were having so much fun capturing Katie and Steve – we didn’t want it to end! We couldn’t get over how much fun we were having with them. Those moments…that feeling…it’s why I love what I do, and it’s all made possible by people like Katie and Steve. Kind, generous, gracious, appreciative, full-of-love couples. Thank you, Katie and Steve, for just being lovely people and for inviting me into your love. Telling your story was an immense joy!
